Good afternoon. This past weekend baby Banner and I went to the theater and saw Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank. Was it good? meh. It wasn’t bad, I will say that. Being loosely based on the 1974 classic Blazing Saddles really helped. Below are my thoughts on the film following our five Bro Force Squad movie review Criteria.

Acting and Cast - Samuel L Jackson was great as he always is. Playing a drunk, depressed samurai teacher. He did a great job at still being a badass, but also you can tell there was some pain in his past. Very hard to do through only voice acting, but I would expect nothing less from SLJ. Michael Cera was Michael Cera. I mean come on guys he's been around long enough that we know what we are getting. Nothing more nothing less. Ricky Gervais as our main villain was great because you know that even if they didn't give him any lines he would still act the same way. Never change Ricky.

Plot - Yes this is loosely based on Blazing Saddles, and with Mel Brooks involved you know it is gonna toe that line. At the end of the day it is a simple story of an outcast becoming the hero and saving the town. There were some fun moments, but nothing too big to write home about. It’s a kids movie so we can’t get too complicated in it.

Best Scene - We have a version of the campfire farting scene from Blazing Saddles. Basically an army eats all the beans and they fart, lighting their torches up. If farting is funny to you, you are reading the wrong review.

Impact - This doesn't move the needle one way or the other. To be honest I'm not even sure what to say here. It was a run of the mill kids animated movie. It's gonna make way more money than we think and that's about it.

Rewatchablity - Yea i’d watch it again. With a run time of 1hr 43min it's an easy watch and has enough laughs that if the kids want to throw it on you aren't gonna roll your eyes.

At the end of the day this was a perfect movie to have a daddy daughter date to. Kids are gonna love it, you are gonna be able to make it through without wanting to gouge our eyes out and we all get to spend quality time enjoying something together.

Till we meet again,
