Are trailers too good for their own good?

It's 2016 and there is something that needs to be addressed. Trailers...they...are...awesome. We live in a golden age where the companies and studios that cut together the roughly two and a half minute preview we get to see to whet our appetites for a movie is becoming often times better than the movies.

The Transformers films prove case and point that you can have me salivating and ready to go be disappointed by Michael Bay every other Summer. Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice exemplified what Zack Snyder is so great at...action scenes!!! The coup de gras of trailers, and the one that literally had me in tears (I'm a pussy I'll admit it) was when the Force Awakens gave us our first glimpse at the characters in the Star Wars Universe that we grew up loving, and played on that nostalgia factor perfectly.

The question I ask you is, are trailers getting too good? Are they setting false expectations, and mis-selling us on films? Or do we need this adrenaline rush in preparation for the films that we wait years to see in theaters? Regardless of which side of the fence you're on...do you want to go see Transformers with me?
