Are movie theaters making a comeback in 2021? Matt Geiger

As a 90s kid one of my favorite things to do was go to a theater with my family or friends and see a movie that has been marketed to me for weeks!
This isn't necessarily a new thing since our grandparents took their dates to theaters in the 50s; hell Lincoln was shot in a theater if you want to go back that long. Given that back then there wasn't a projector, but real actors. We go to theaters for entertainment, but like everything else that entertainment is moving to our streaming service...isn't it?
I'm here to say that if you believe sports stadiums will be full again, than movie theaters will be too. It's the same concept of shoulder to shoulder for an expanded amount of time with minimal movement so you don't miss any action. Furthermore it's the same concept as, "yeah it's nice to watch from my couch, but there is just something about being there!" The experience will always outweigh technology!
I don't think theaters will be rolling until early May in 2021, but that's not necessarily because of Covid. January to March are typically dumping grounds for movies anyway; the summer blockbuster season usually gets rolling around Memorial Day Weekend. Still don't believe me... well because so many movies stalled and pushed release dates in 2020, this year we will get 2 years of summer blockbusters in a span of 5 months!
Movie releases this year
So this year be safe, grab a beer and enjoy the experience! *Also check out the BFS after the movie for our review!
